Hebrews 11:4-6
Hebrews 11 has been called the Hall of Fame of Faith, the roll call of the faithful. In our text tonight we will study 2 OT persons who demonstrated faith in GOD; Abel & Enoch.
Let’s look @ Abel—He teaches us about
1. Worshipping By Faith. (v.4a)
a. Notice what Abel Offered. (v.4)
b. Notice What Abel Obtained. (v.4b)
Cain represents being religious—
Abel represents being righteous—Rom.3:22; Phillip.2:9
c. Notice Why Abel Is Observed. (v.4c)
Let’s Look @ Enoch—He teaches us about—
2. Walking By Faith. (v.5)
a. Enoch did not experience Death. (v.5)
Thus, many scholars point out—Enoch pictures the rapture. *1Thess.4:16,17
b. Enoch exemplifies devotion.
In order to walk with God you must have communion.
In order to walk with God you must have consecration.
In order to walk with God you must have consistency.
3. Working By Faith.(v.6)
a. The rejoicing of God.
b. The realization of God.
He says “He is” twice”…That’s the isness of God.
c. The reward Of God. Matt.21:22; Mk.11:24 Jn.3:16
