The Different Kinds Of Prayer.
–*Ephes.6:18 NIV And pray in the Spirit on
all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying
for all the Lord’s people.
—There is the prayer of binding
and loosing.
*Matt.18:18 Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
—There is the prayer of agreement.
*Matt.18:18-20 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
*Deut.32:30 says—“One can chase a thousand two can put 10,ooo
to flight”…
—There is the prayer of petition.
*Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever
ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
*James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have,
and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
*John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,
and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
*Matt.7:7-11 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
—The prayer of commitment.
*Luke 22:41,42 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
—There is the prayer of thanksgiving.
*John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
—There is the prayer of intercession.
*Philip.1:3,4 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy.
*ITimo.2:1-3 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.
—There is the prayer of confession.
*1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
—There is the laying on of hands.
*Acts 13:3 And when they had fasted and prayed,
and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
—There is the anointing with oil.
*James 5:13-15 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
—There is fasting.
*Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth
by nothing, but by prayer and fasting
—There is praying in tongues.
*ICorn.14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
–*ICorn.14:18,19 thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
-Tongues Builds you up.
–*Jude 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on
your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
-Tongues edifies you.
–*ICorin.14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue
edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth
the church.
