Bible Text: 2 Chronicles 7: 14 | Preacher: Pastor Troy Garner | A Panacea For A Pandemic
*IIChron.7:14
1. The People God Has.
This is conditional.
—There are many conditional promises in the Bible..
*Isa.1:18-19 “If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the best from the land”..
*Matt.21:22 “If you believe, you will receive
whatever you ask for in prayer”.
*Luke 17:6 “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed
you can say to this mountain”.
*John 15:6-7 “If you abide in me and I abide in you,
you can ask what you will”..
*Rom.8:31 “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
*Rom.10:9 “If you believe in your heart & confess with
your mouth that Jesus was born of a virgin,
died on the Cross & Rose again, you will be saved”.
*IJohn 1:9 “If you confess your sins, God will forgive you”.
This is covenantal.
*1Peter 4:17 “For the time is come that judgment must begin
at the house of God: and if it first begin at us,
what shall the end be of them that obey not
the gospel of God?”.
*Acts 15:14 “Simeon hath declared how God at the first did
visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people
for his name”.
2. The Pride God Hates.
*Prov.6–GOD hates pride.
*James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto
the humble.
*Prov.16:18 Pride goeth before destruction,
and an haughty spirit before a fall.
*Prov.11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame:
but with the lowly is wisdom.
*Prov.29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low:
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
3. The Prayer God Hears.
*Psalms 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;
my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Jesus’ first & last message was to repent.
*Lk.13:3 “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent,
ye shall all likewise perish”.
In Acts 24:25 Felix was convicted but he did not repent.
In Ex.9:23,27 Pharaoh confessed but he didn’t repent.
In 2Corin.7:10 just because you cried doesn’t mean you have repented.
—Repentance is not condemnation.
—Repentance is a turning from Sin, a change of mind,
a change of heart.
*Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to
the Greeks, repentance toward God,
and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
*Ezek.14:6 “Therefore say unto the house of Israel,
Thus saith the Lord God; Repent, and turn yourselves
from your idols; and turn away your faces from
all your abominations”.
4. A Promise God Honors.
*Colo.1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood,
even the forgiveness of sins:
*Ephes.4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
*Isa.43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions
for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
